We've been so busy with all the construction, getting permits, and of course finding amazing new things to bring you, that we missed out on being the first ones to announce that after all this wait, Toucan Boutique will finally open its doors in the Shaw neighborhood of DC!
Along with our announcement that we found a great space at 1911 9th Street NW, we are also excited to let you all know that we will also be carrying men's collections. Of course, we'll focus on some really cool Brazilian brands, but we've also found some amazing emerging American designers that we know you'll love.

RIP

Celebrity designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his apartment today. It is being reported that the cause of death was suicide as a result of his mother's passing last week. The fashion world has lost a genius today.

Braving the Snow at Crytal Couture

Last night was the second night of Crystal Couture and though the weather outside was frightful, we had a great time. Again, there was some great body painting, lots of local boutiques showing their best, but there was also a T-shirt competition featuring designs by local artists. For our runways show this time Toucan Boutique decided to focus on separates and Redley and Skunk were a major success. Check out some of the photos and we hope see you all there again tonight!

First Day at Crystal Couture

So if you missed the first day of Crystal Couture, make sure you check it out today, because last night's Jungle theme really brought out the animals. There were models with animal body paint, lots of interesting prints on the runway and everyone had a great time in spite of the cold. Tonight will be even better and don't miss out on Toucan Boutique's fashion show.

It Starts Today

Starting today and going on through Saturday February 6th, is Crystal City's Crystal Couture event. Toucan Boutique along with other local businesses will be there to give you all a taste of what we have to offer.

"This year's event will be fun and exciting every evening with at least three runway shows each hour and free hair styles and makeovers. There will be 30 or more boutiques featured every evening and many will be selling their clothes right off the runway at great event prices. Don't miss out on this fun, FREE event! There are also many specials at local restaurants!"
